A "special" general council meeting is to be held tomorrwo, the 21st of November. The meeting was called at the request of a petition circulated by GeorGene Nelson. The petition states:"Purpose of Petition: To call for the removal of the following Tribal Council Members: Chairman Joe Kirk, Vice-Chairman Joe Hobbs, Secretary Torina Case, Treasurer Brandi Decker, Members at Largs: Will Hatcher, Jeff Mitchell, Alan Foreman, Perry Chocktoot, and Jeannie McNair. The listed officers and members are accused of(1) violating the rights of the General Council members who submitted a petition on October 14, 2009, and changing the date of the meeting cited in October 2009 #1 petition from October 31, 2009 to November 7, 2009, per notice posted at Klamth Tribal Office, (listing post date as 10/20/2009).(2) Failure to follow the Constitution process for calling of Special General Council Meetings by altering, amending, or changing the process as outlined in the Constitution.(3) Failure to perform duties and responsibilities within date of meeting called for in October 2009 #1 petition. The above listed Klamath Tribal Council Members are accused of being in violation of the following Klamath Tribal Laws: The Klamath Tribes, Tribal Council By-laws, Klamath Tribal Code 1.01, Article II Limitation on Tribal Council Authority, Items A and D; Article III Tribal Council, Officers and Members, Item C (1) and Item D (6); Klamath Tribes Constitution, Article VII Elected Official of the General Council, Section IV Duties of Officers, Item E, Article XII Meetings of the General Council, Section III."I am sure it will be a meeting to remember folks!
